Hello. If I have a situation where I have simultaneous level indicators where there is an x with a subscript i and a superscript asterisk, do I leave space before and after the asterisk or should the asterisk be next to the i with/ without an intervening indicator since they’re simultaneous (please see attachment)?  I’ve looked through both the 1972 guide and the certification lessons but I’m still confused. Thank you.

Hi Cheri. Can you determine the meaning of the asterisk? This may affect how it is transcribed. If you can post a snippet of the surrounding text for some context, I can offer some advice.
