Braille Formats 1.8.2.f reads: When using typeform or capitals passage indicators, or code switch indicators, it is not necessary to terminate the indicators for the running head. The running head may be capitalized or emphasized and it does not affect the text in general. (from Updates to Braille Formats: Principles of Print-to-Braille Transcription, 2016 Approved March 2024)
Does this mean that if a running heading is used in a transcription, that a capitals terminator or other terminators need not be used in that running heading?
The purpose of the new guideline is to clarify that the Running Head is “anchored text” outside of the main document.
The running head has its own indicators and is independent of the text on the previous page or the text following the running head. A running head that contains a capitalized passage indicator must also contain a capitals terminator. Typeforms work the same way, but a typeform passage in a running head is unlikely.
