I am transcribing a textbook in Nemeth code. There are extensive sections with literary paragraphs containing words in boldface. Am I correct to use the Nemeth boldface indicator even in non mathematical sections of the book?

I’d apply Rule V. section 34.b, along with relevant sections of Braille Formats.

Yes. If you are going to maintain the emphasis, you would use the open and close Nemeth boldface indicators. Literary boldface indicators are not used in Nemeth.
