Hello everyone,

When a picture caption appears within a 2-level list, should it be separated by blank lines or not? My instinct tells me that blank lines would only be required if the caption would be before or after the entire list, but not if it would be within the list.

I’ll assume the picture applies to something in the list – otherwise it should go before or after the list 🙂

With that assumption, then you are correct, no blank lines are required around the picture caption.
