Someone asked what to do when a print table of contents has beginning and ending pagination for each topic. For instance: Foreword….p. 1-3. I think only p. 1 should be there, but I can’t find an example or a rule in Formats 2011 or 2016 which gives the answer. Thanks. Diana Dyal

Formats does not directly address this issue. A poll of the Formats Committees I am associated with resulted in the answer that we would follow print and put in 1-3.
