Hello!
There’s a rumor afoot that says states will have the option of adopting either UEB with embedded Nemeth or purely UEB for the transcription of mathematics and other technical materials. I’ve tried to find a definitive statement on both the BANA website and in NBA conference hand outs confirming or refuting this possibility but everything I’ve come across could be read either way. Can you offer a clear interpretation and/or direct me to someone who can?
Thank you!I suggest you forward this question to the chair of BANA. I can tell you what I feel – which is that Nemeth is being kept in the United States and that all states should adopt that. Letting states choose which way to go only creates confusion…especially since the texts for our students often come from transcriber’s in many different states.
