Here is my question. Why do we not use the shape indicator for circle with the physical enclosure for words? It seems to me that it would be more consistent for the braille reader using an indicator that exists for symbols with words also. I am sure there is a reason but I cannot think of it. 🙂 Janice
Essentially, it comes down to the fact that shapes around words in non-technical material is really just emphasis. As such, the typeform indicators are a better choice.
There is also the issue of what to do when there is more than a single letter sequence enlosed within a shape – and the typeform indicators are set up to handle that.
